Design of a composite sub-structural beam specimen for investigating tunneling cracks under cyclic loading

چکیده
The design of a thin-walled composite beam is presented whose purpose to facilitate the study intra-laminar tunneling cracks at sub-structural length-scale. utilizes variable thickness reinforcement in longitudinal direction develop gauge zone near-uniform strains when loaded cantilever configuration. manufactured from E-glass fibers and epoxy resin tested under static cyclic multi-axial loading. results include experimental strain measurements zone, which agree with numerical predictions, observations developed cracks.
